Join the Transmark Team as a Fleet Maintenance Technician and play a critical role in maintaining and repairing our vehicles and equipment. Work closely with the Fleet Manager to ensure efficient scheduling, timely repairs, and top-quality service.
Pay: $20-$25 per hour, depending on experience.
Schedule:
- 4 10-hour days including one weekend day per week (Schedule will be Monday thru Friday during training.)
- Schedule subject to change.
- On call after hours on days working.
- Must have a telephone and be available for 24-hour on-call duty.
- Must be able to report to the company terminal within 60 minutes of receiving a call.
- Ability to work all shifts, including weekends and holidays.

Key Responsibilities:
- Perform maintenance and repairs on fleet vehicles and equipment, including brakes, engines, electrical systems, and more.
- Conduct preventive maintenance and inspections to ensure vehicle safety and reliability.
- Respond to emergency breakdowns and provide field assistance as needed.
- Maintain a clean, organized work area and tools.
- Accurately log work performed using company software.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED equivalent required.
- Valid Indiana driver’s license with acceptable driving record for the past three years.
- Specialized training in mechanics, maintenance, and inspections; may require attending additional training classes.
- Mechanic Certifications a plus but not required.
- Subject to Transmark’s Drug and Alcohol Testing Program (pre-employment, post-accident, random, reasonable suspicion, return-to-duty, and follow-up testing).
- Pre-employment physical and drug test required.
- Proficiency in basic math (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, fractions, and decimals).
- Sound judgment in using equipment, tools, materials, and manpower efficiently.Ability to follow verbal and written instructions.
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to complete assigned projects on time.
- Ability to meet deadlines and communicate effectively with the Fleet Manager on equipment status.
- Ability to remain calm in stressful situations.
- Teamwork-oriented approach, including cooperation, support, and consideration of organizational goals.
- Thorough knowledge of safety precautions, methods, materials, and tools used in fleet maintenance.
- Strong judgment in the use of equipment, tools, materials, and manpower.
- Ability to carry out assignments independently and to completion.
- Must be able to lift and/or move up tp 50 pounds and occasionally life and/or move up to 100 pounds with assistance.
- Willingness to work a rotating schedule and be on call after hours as needed.
Tools and Equipment Used:
- Operates motorized vehicles for testing and repairs.
- Uses power and hand tools, including jacks, hydraulic lifts, air tools, and diagnostic equipment.
- Works with personal computers, calculators, phones, fax/copy machines, and laptops.
- Must provide basic tools (list available upon request).
